Endowment Fund Grants
Project
Selection
Process
and Administration
The
Endowment Funds are designed to assist the St. Louis Church
community in meeting challenges and opportunities in social
outreach, lifelong faith formation, building and grounds care, and
the special needs that will enfold in the 21st
century. Applications for a grant may be submitted by the pastor,
Parish Council, directors of St. Louis ministries, and other members
of the St. Louis Church community.
St. Louis has established an Endowment Committee to oversee and
administer grants from the Endowment Funds. The Endowment Committee
serves as the screening body for project ideas, reviewing
applications for project funding on an annual basis. The Endowment
Committee will evaluate each application in light of its priority,
effectiveness, impact on the Church community, and funds
availability.
The Endowment Committee requires at minimum that applicants provide
a clear description of the project purpose and need, including a
detailed project budget, and that the project purpose is consistent
with the mission statement of the associated fund as well as with
Catholic teaching, principles, and philosophy.
If you are submitting a project proposal for consideration, please
complete the Endowment Fund Grants Application on the
St. Louis Endowment Fund web site and submit the form on-line or
mail a copy if you prefer.
The Endowment Committee will call for project applications in
January of each year for projects covering the ensuing 12 months
beginning April 1st. After review, the committee will
submit its recommendations for funding to the Parish Council at its
first meeting in April. The Endowment Committee will then notify
applicants of the Parish’s decision following the review and
commitment of funding by the Parish Council. Grants that are
recommended by the Endowment Committee and approved by the Parish
Council will generally be distributed in the second and third
quarter of each calendar year. If funds remain available, a second
call for applications will be made in June.
