Sunday Stroll for Haiti
October 3, 2010

Rain or Shine
Please participate in our
first-ever Sunday Stroll for Haiti!
Help us to remind the community that Haiti still needs lots of help,
and join us as we walk through the village of Pittsford.
St. Louis Church
is spearheading this effort by inviting its own parishioners, as well
as many neighboring churches and organizations, to join together to
raise funds for Haiti. The registration fee for the Sunday Stroll for
Haiti was kept low to encourage as many folks as possible to
participate.
Additional funds above and beyond the registration
fee will also be raised. St. Louis
Church has been supporting the
Friends of the Orphans in Haiti and the work of
Fr. Rick Frechette since 1991 and will send any monies raised to their
organization. Other churches and organizations may choose to join us
in supporting Friends of the Orphans, or to fundraise for their
own charities doing good work in Haiti (their own organizations will
coordinate those efforts). We hope the final result will be a lot of
needed funds going to Haiti to help in their time of great need, and
that by working together we will make a greater impact.

REGISTRATION
Fee covers
registration, Stroll t-shirt (if
available, see note), and the celebration after the walk.
What a deal!!
NOTE:
The deadline for the free t-shirt is
Monday, September 20th. T-shirts may be
available after that date on a first come, first serve basis based
on the sizes we have available.

NOTE:
On the day of the walk, if you want to participate
but have not registered in advance, that is okay! We would
love to have you come along and would be happy to accept your
donation of any size. However, we may be unable to provide you
with a t-shirt, and any snack may be available for a small
donation.
Even if
you can’t participate in the Sunday Stroll for Haiti, you can still
donate
to this great cause by following the payment directions
above.

CHECK-IN:

Check in starts at
1:00 PM and there will be entertainment
by Angelo Rose, writer/singer
of “Under the Mango Tree”, which he produced and sold through
Brueggers and other outlets to benefit Friends of the Orphans.

The Stroll will begin
at 1:30 PM, and you can follow the
well-marked route through the Village of Pittsford, including the
Schoen Place Canal Path, at your own pace. Feel free to stop and
shop, or to talk up our mission to passers by! The route is under 2
miles, so most folks should be able to participate. No pets,
please.

When you get back to St.
Louis, enjoy the snack and entertainment provided.
RAISING ADDITIONAL FUNDS
- Decide how you would
like to raise additional funds for Haiti. Instead of requiring
you to get sponsorships or increasing the registration fee, we
will let YOU decide what you would like to do. Here are a few
ideas:

Get sponsorships from
family and friends for your 2 mile walk.

Give yard work or
other jobs to the kids so they can raise a few dollars.
-
Have a bake sale or
lemonade stand to make a few bucks.
-
For teens with paid
jobs, consider donating a percentage of a work day.
-
Stage a car wash,
neighborhood concert, carnival, babysitting service, etc.
-
Sell hand-made crafts
or other items.
-
Be creative and come
up with your own ideas!
Any funds collected can be
given to
St. Louis Church for
Friends of the Orphans, or any other
church/ organization supporting the work of
groups in Haiti.
